All carged up

What a great day!

Things are shaping up now. BAC is such a creative space to work in. You can feel the echoes of great theatre in that building.

The General Office which will be the venue for the scratch show next week is more perfect then we remembered. Dark, intimitate and cave like, the perfect setting for a strange cabaret club somewhere between the deepest part of the forest and a place in our imaginations.

So...working on the narrative and the overall structure of the performance, enjoying the time to research and explore ideas at BAC.

Over the weekend we return to our rehearsal space in Cornwall to work with Julian Gaskell (From The Ragged Trousered Philantrhropists) and Emily Dobson.

Really excited to be working with both Julian and Emily; Julian for his wild gypsy music and charismatic/eccentric stage presence; and Emily for her explosive and beautiful dance style and her fantastic ideas for the character.

I am playing the host and Master of Ceremonies, a character called Jacob. A deserted Army general, a lone wolf and a charmer.

Angelina (Director) has such great ideas and such a strong connection to the stories in this show. She is really exciting to work with and I think she is really enjoying working on a project in this way. (She will also be making a very exciting appearence in the cabaret club!)

After The Dancer and The Devil appears as part of the scratch festival at BAC we are continuing the development of the show at 2 of our other favorite venues; Prema Arts Centre in Uley(Gloucestershire) and The Lowry, Salford where we will preview a full length version of the show/event in early 2011.

We are looking forward to Porl Cooper from The Lowry joining us at BAC next week.

Beautiful evening down on the South Bank.
More to follow.
